All of the rock here is either of sandstone, conglomerate, or quartzite lithology. Quartzite is more common here and is a metamorphosed sandstone or conglomerate. Areas of Anthracite coal would not be unusual to discover. Anthracite is actually a metamorphic rock.
General OverviewMain Wall is a short drive past the town of Mocanaqua. The parking area is on your left about a mile east of town. The parking area is small so it may be congested on busy days. From the parking area the trail to the cliff is on your right, adjacent to a large Earth Conservancy sign. You cannot miss the cliff. You can easily hike around/scramble up to the top of the cliff where trees are abundant for top rope set ups. Be sure to include several long pieces of cord for the anchors. These climbs are the highest of the Moc areas up to 80’. Climbs range from 5.6 to 5.13. This crag has a good bit of space for staging participants.
